Kathy and I are going to Vegas in January. We'll be taking Mom and celebrating her 79th birthday. Kathy's husband is also going so we'll get a car and he will chauffer us around town. Just wondering what had happen to CJHRockrules and Biloxiqueen? They were posting a lot but haven't seen another in over a month. Biloxiqueen you were so excited about your first trip, if you are still out there, have you gone yet?

CJ, you were a constant contributor to the board on the merits of the HR, what happen? I enjoy reading about the other casinos. Especially the one I have not been too in awhile.

Just booked a trip to Cherokee for October 14-17. Hubby & I both got an offer from them this week, and we said, what the heck, let's go. I had thought we would go in November, and had already booked 2 nights, but October is really better, for leaves and for us in general. We also got $225 freeplay(total) for the first and last of the month, and will be able to overlap that being there over the 15th-16th. Tom's Home

I got an email from Jen today and she made it back safely and Tom is home. So she's busy taking care of him. I don't know where she gets all her energy. She was wonderful at the Meet. She and I both think the Beau did a great job with letting us have the Meet there.
They have been through way too much here lately - well, for a long time really. Sometimes it's hard not to wonder why bad things happen to good people.
Let's all keep praying that things will keep...

Here is the latest email from Jen that I received late last night.

We just got home.
I put Tom to bed. He is so happy to be home.
The bleeding stopped and his hematocrit went to 31. (they gave him blood) and took him off a bunch of meds.
He's still weak and real nauseated and has trouble eating, but now maybe he can get better.
It is so amazing how in the last 24 hours...

Well, I am still working on my trip report (short novel) from my summer biloxi trips. Son and I are baching it for a few days and I thought I would finish this morning while he slept. Alas, he is awake and offering 20 month old help with the computer. Guess I will add one more chapter before I post.

Just read over on the Tunica Board where Jen's husband Tom is in the hospital again. Evidently his heart problem caused him to pass out and he fell and broke his arm this time. They are having quite a time, and I'm sure would appreciate all of our prayers.

Going to Lake Tahoe

I got a Harrah's trip offer to either Reno or Lake Tahoe. The dates were convenient with my work schedule, so I was able to book it. Mom and I will go to Lake Tahoe in October and stay at Harvey's. The trip included free airfare for two plus 5 night hotel accommodations. The flight leaves from Mobile, AL. I receive these offers all the time but have never done one. I'm excited to do my first junket. Mom has some old friends who live in California and they are going to meet...

Sad News

It was a very bad weekend for my family. My oldest brother died unexpectedly on Saturday. We got a call from my SIL that he was in critical condition at the hospital in Panama City. We jumped in the car, but did not make it before he passed away.

My mother has now lost 2 of her 4 children. My brother, her youngest son, died just 2 years ago from cancer. As ya'll probably know, she is 97. This is just not right, and she is of course having a hard time.

Well it's happened before where we have a Biloxi trip set up and Vegas finds me a better deal.We were able to get 4 free nights at any Harrahs property in Vegas and free food vouchers.My round trip tickets for my wife and I was $435 total on Continental.Thats all it's costing me to get to Vegas.A no brainer and I get to stay 4 days instead of 3.
If I go to Biloxi I get 3 nights @ casino rate for $79.99 a night at the Beau since its been a while since I played at the Beau or MGM...

Hey Folks I need your advice please.
Jim and I are thinking about going to Vegas in October for the AARP convention. The only places we've stayed when there were the Monte Carlo or downtown. In order to make this trip affordable we need to stay at a Harrah's property since we're diamonds. We have a choice of Harrahs/ IP/ Rio Suites/ Paris/ Ballys/ Caesers/ and I guess any other Harrahs there.
