Your Favorite Lunch Spot |

Do you have a favorite place along the coast to do lunch? I guess our's must be Mary Mahoney's. We wish that some of the other nicer restaurants were
open for lunch as well. I understand Emeril's is open then and I'm sure it's a real treat. It seems we will have a car most trips now and mid day
is a good time to get out and about. We would enjoy having a nice lunch and playing a little at a given casino for a change of pace. We thought the cafe at
IP was very nice and we look forward to returning to it. Olives would probably do well serving lunch if they were to open. Does anyone have any other
idea's?

I've been to Emeril's for dinner and would like to try it again at lunchtime. I also like the C&G Grille at the Island View Casino in Gulfport.
Pre-Katrina, the Grand had a place called Roxie's Diner. That was my favorite place for lunch. It was like an old 50's diner. Wish it was still
there.

Roxie's - OMG that place was the best! We used to eat lunch there almost every day on any given trip.
You could always try the Hard Rock Cafe if you are in the mood for sport-bar type food.

Two of our pre-Katrina places were Jim Bob's Pool Hall in Biloxi and Firedog Saloon in Bay St. Louis. Both had an eclectic mix of customers, great drinks
and tasty food.
I guess now it would be Mary Mahoney's unless I am out on my own with no Baboo supervision. Then it might be Hooter's

Boy FlMary you have made me want Roxie's sliders burgers or maybe a shrimp po-boy!! We enjoyed many great meals @ Roxies...I wish they would bring it back
with the remodel.
C & BG...here are a few places we hit for lunch when we have our car. The gulfport area has more to offer for restaurants. The latest we found was a small quaint place named ConFusion. What a fabulous place. Friends took us one nite for dinner and it was so good we went back a few days later for lunch. Check out the menu @ seekclarity.com. The other we have mentioned before is Salute' italian restaurant. Have eaten there 3 times and all were very good. Also in gulfport north of I-10 is Lookout 49. It is a sister restaurant to salute' but more casual and creole. Really good too. Then Vrezal's is always wonderful and worth driving to gulfport. So that is the ones we have been to I think you would like. When we have a car we try to go to a new place each trip. Most places we have found in a local magazine called Beach Blvd. The Hard Rock & IV have the magazine. Not sure about Beau. Bon Appetite!! |

I do hope the Grand brings back Roxy's with the remodel. They had great onion rings too.

My room is my favorite "lunch place". If we ate lunch we would not be hungry that night. I like to go back to the room and have a pack of crackers
and a couple of cold beers. Its a nice break and then I am ready for some more casino.

Mary Mahoney's and Varzels top our list. A lunch there will also keep us from anything but a light snack in the evening as they are both filling.

I guess when we go on a gambling trip, two squares a day works just fine. The blending of either an orchestrated breakfast/lunch/dinner seems to work best for
us. You know, pick just two from either columns "A", "B" or "C". A quick bite in between the two options sounds good to us but
proves to be rather difficult in Biloxi. From a cost standpoint, lunch is probably the best value of the day but the options do seem limited. I think the
casinos are missing an opportunity here. I could see folks lined up at: Olives at the Beau, Thirty-Two at IP, the CQ at Treasure Bay and Vibe at the Hard Rock.
Emeril's is open for lunch but that is proving to be a very long drive through the construction occurring on Beach Blvd. We like Mary Mahoney's just
fine so I guess we will do that yet again for a nice lunch. Otherwise, we will be hitting the Waffle House for one of their entertaining "On Two"
breakfast along with baggles from the Roasted Bean, maybe a hot dog poolside and Tien and the BR Prime bar where we will split a steak. I wish we had one more
appealing lunch option in Biloxi. By dinner time, we can be so engulfed in our gambling that it is a pity to break off. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Chump.. we're it the 2 squares/day camp too. Usually have a coffee (or 3) in the AM and play VP and then have a late b-fast/lunch at the cafe or buffet
(this is the only time we do the buffet) about 10 or 11. Then it's pool for a while, shower, VP, dinner at Olives, BR or the Coast and more VP, then to
bed about 10 or so and back up in the AM to do it all over.. man I hate that routine....NOT..lol
I usually am having coffee and VP by 6... it's a little later for Mrs Dino.. she likes her sleep in time:) |

Dino,
BG and I are usually up at 5:00am at home. When in Biloxi, we often start to stir around 4:00am. This will go on until one of us says, "That's It, I want my coffee"! LOL Going back to our Vegas days, we go into our "Pajama Party" mode. LOL We each have a pair of sweats (hers are much cuter) laid out the night before and it's: pull up, pull down, swish-swish with the mouthwash, splash-splash in the face and brush-brush with the comb and we're out the door. We are in terrific shape for a fire drill! We're down in the casino by 5:15. What a beautiful sight it is at that hour. It's our most favorite casino time, just us, a handful of others along with the cleaners, sipping the first cup, listening about the night's mayhem and chasing the royal. The Beau has taken to playing 50"s music at that hour. If you are going to hear any Dean Martin, that is the hour. We have heard songs that we had not listened to in 30+ years. It doesn't get any better than that. The 10/6 DDB uprights are always open and that is when we hit them. Several hours later, we have our Bloody Mary and trot off to the showers after a good morning workout in the casino. It just doesn't get any better! |
