I think there are a few folks out there who are pretty comuter savvy. I know just enough to be dangerous. I need some help/advice. I think my computer has a virus, spyware or some such nonsense, as I have been having some strange problems. I have McAfee Security Suite on the computer(through Cox.net), so I thought I was safe. But I have run the McAfee scan several times, and it is not detecting anything, nor is Adaware. The computer is still working, and I can get online and to my programs. But, this is what is happening: For one thing, when I set my home page, it will not retain that page(I do know how to set it under internet options). It just keeps going to Google when I turn on the computer, no matter how many times I have changed it. I am also getting a message popping up that says"You have a security problem." Every so often something else comes up asking do I want to scan for viruses. If I say yes, it goes to some freescan page that appears to be scanning. If I say no, it goes a way but comes up again every so often.

I've searched online for some help, and I think something in my computer has been "hijacked". Anyone ever had this problem? I wonder why McAfee is not picking up on anything being wrong? But something is just not right. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I think I am just going to have to take it in to my computer geek for "cleaning". I've done all I know to do and I am afraid I'll delete something I shouldn't.
