This is kind of a gratuitious post. I noticed on my last one that I was at 799. This puts me at an even 800.

..That the Caribbean Stud jackpot at the Beau Rivage was over $250K when I was down there 3 weeks ago. I sure hope no one hits it until I can get back down
there the first week of June. If someone hits it, I will be as despondent as the day I read that someone had hit the 14 million dollar WOF jackpot at the Hard
Rock 8 days before I was to check in there during Spring Break. I plan to use my one free night offer there the first week we are out of school for the
summer.

Diceman, I will be at the Beau the nights of 7 and 8 June. Maybe we could play together if you are there then. I usually do BJ and LIR, but could learn CS.

Hey, that could happen. I will get out of school the preceeding week and will be about ready for some relaxation. Caribbean Stud has a pretty simple strategy
(or at least mine is). I play any pair and fold anything below a pair. So far, no amount of beer or sleep deprivation has gotten me to a point that I could
not remember that simple rule.

Good luck.
Royal Match 21 Progressive is an optional progressive bonus bet for Blackjack that considers the first two cards you receive. If your first two cards are
the same suit or a Royal Match (a King & Queen in the same suit), you win. Win between 1,000 to 1 plus 100% of the progressive jackpot when you and dealer
receive the same Royal Match in Spades.

Due to the gaming laws of Mississippi (and probably elsewhere since we mostly copied Nevada;s), a casino can't just drop a game like Caribbean Stud Poker
without dispersing the accumulated jackpot money somehow. When the Grand dropped their CSP game a few years back after they reopened post-Katrina, they
lowered the requirements to win the big jackpot to only 4 of a kind. People lined up for the seats hours and hours before the new requirements took effect.
Because there were 2 jackpots (one from Gulfport Grand for 86,000 and one from Biloxi Grand for 99,000), they were going to play until the 86,000 jackpot from
Gulfport was won and then reset the machine to 99,000 and play until the Biloxi jackpot was won. Then they would be finished with the game for good.
A friend of mine who runs the Blackjacktournaments.com website heard about these developments the morning after the Grand reopened. He immediately hopped in his car and went there. (he only lives 90 minutes away) Of course, there were plenty of people already ahead of him. He got in line at 7 PM and finally got a seat at 5 AM the next morning. They had raised the minimun bet to $25 so you had to be bankrolled to even play. He played 31.5 straight hours and finally just had to get some sleep. Counting the drive and waiting in line, he had been up over 45 hours. 20 minutes after he left the table (about 10 hands), his phone rang with the news that the first jackpot had just been won. He went on home and slept for 8 hours and then headed back to Biloxi. This time he got there at 9 PM and was able to get a seat at 4:30 AM. A little after 9 AM, he looked down at 2-10-2-2-2. Yeah, my friend Ken won over 100K with those four twos. So maybe the Beau just isn't advertising it. I know all those progressives that flea mentioned are recent developments so maybe they are pushing them but not the stuff that they have had for a while. |
