Prayer Request |

Just read over on the Tunica Board where Jen's husband Tom is in the hospital again. Evidently his heart problem caused him to pass out and he fell and
broke his arm this time. They are having quite a time, and I'm sure would appreciate all of our prayers.

Here is a copy of an email I received from Jen today. By the way, when she emailed me on Sunday she said the meet is still on. I am sure that is subject to
change. I am not sure that the Beau would have it if Jen is not there but I cant speak for them or for Jen. I am just a moderator.
Tom had a bad episode last night. Just like he did when we called the ambulance. It happened in his sleep and the monitors went off. He said he woke up to about 8 or 10 people working on him. They used the paddles and have left the new fangled heart paddles on him. That's the second one since he has been in the hospital. Doctor came in while I was there and said they are rushing up the procedure for the pacemaker/defib to tomorrow. They will do his stints the next day or at least by Friday, then another day they will rebreak his arm.
Thanks for your well wishes and prayers. Jen |

Here is Jens latest email to me dated 12:25 early this morning.
Monday night Tom had 4 more attacks.
(pacemaker/defibber) Thank goodness the doctors rescheduled the surgery from Thursday to Tuesday. He was ready . He seemed to be much brighter and alert after the surgery. They used a local and kept him sedated without heavy anesthesia. The Doctors say the procedure should help Tom's lack of energy. He seems to be excited over the prognosis.
Wednesday at noon they will give him a local and are rebreaking his arm and putting two pins and external fixator.
No Cast.
Depending on how this goes….. they will schedule the cardiac stents next, probably Thursday.
We thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. I make sure he gets the hugs and comments passed to him. At each visit I mention to him who has called/ emailed/ posted / or came by. He says it does him good to know so many care.
I'll be checking back, Jen |

Here is what Jen posted on the Tunica board earlier:
Well today was a breath of fresh air compared to the last week. This morning he was transferred out of ICU to a step down unit. Same bed, same equipment, same everything except this room has room for visitors and the chair is much more comfortable lol. Yesterday they did the external fixator on his arm. After surgery the doctor called me and said don't be frightened because with his blood thinner he would be a bloody mess and the metal sticking in his arm may need some getting used to. I teased him about getting the Frankenstein 208 deluxe model. It gives me the heebie jeebies everytime I look at it. He was able to sit up and eat today but not quite strong enough to stand or walk. Tom gets this weird reaction to anatheisa ... when he goes to sleep he quits breathing. He does it every time for about a month after a surgery. He has ended up in ICU on a ventilator before because of it. But this time it may be different. His Oxygen level dips to 85 while he is on oxygen set at 6. So right now that is his only battle and the pain from the arm. We so appreciate the prayers and comments. I am totally convinced the energize bunny will be back. He plans on being in Biloxi on the weekend of the 12th and I believe he will do it. Everyone out there take care and do what the doctor says to do. Headed to bed........ Jen I forgot to mention the stents. He has 80 % blockage in a couple of places the cardiologist had orginally wanted to put more stents. (he has 6 bypasses and 5 stents already). He will not do the surgery now or ever. Doc said they are not causing any pain, and it will not extend his life, plus he felt it would be extra trauma he doesn't need. |

You beat me to it Charles. I just logged on to post it lol. Thank you!
We have been teasing him about putting one of those banners people put on a bus at the end of his bed that says "BILOXI BOUND". He will make it. He may look a bit rough, but he will make it. I know Tom. Thank ya'll ever so much for the prayers and well wishes. Every day he wants to know who I have heard from. He looks forward to me rattling off a list of posters, emails, phone calls, and cards. I think it is the care, the prayers, his gratitude for life and everyone's concern which has fueled his drive "to make it". Oh this may show up posted as TnGigi. I was doing some quick maintenance work before I took off to the hospital. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jen |

This is the latest email from Jen:
Saturday Aug. 29th update.
Tom is winding down his stay at the hospital. He is still in the ICU step down unit. (btw there are no visiting restrictions
except 1 person after 10pm).
Yesterday one of the ortho doctors told me I will have to redress it when we get home. Talk about heebie jeebies….augh… So, I
need to toughen up. (picture nails going thru the skin and into the bone)
Thanks for all the prayers, calls, emails, text messages, posts, and visits. It means a lot to Tom to know he has a cheering section and such wonderful friends and family.

I copied this from the Tunica board. I also received an email from Jen last night. As of this moment she is
still planing on being in Biloxi for the meet. She says she may just drive down on Sunday morning and drive back after the meet.
Wow! Thank you for all of the prayers and well wishes. We need some more if you can. Tom has had a set back and is back in ICU step down. He's bleeding internally and tomorrow the docs are going to try and find the leak. We went thru this about 2 years ago 21 units of blood and 12 days before the bleed stopped. This time he has some extra issues going on in addition to this, so it's tough. He won't be making it to Biloxi for sure now. Please Pray for him. Jen |
