I just saw an ad in Casino Player for Atmore in Alabama. From the ad, it looks like a typical casino resort, but I guess this is one of the places with all
the bingo-based machines & no table games. I'm plannig a Biloxi trip in May, traveling from North Florida. The ad said Atmore is near I-65. Would it
be a big detour from I-10? Just out of curiousity, I like to see different casinos, but is this one worth the detour for a couple of hours? Thanks.------Mike

Mike, Sailor or Mary should be able to answer when they see your post. I pass it on my way to Biloxi you can see the building from I-65. I have never stopped there and as of now have no intentions to doing so. |

My nephew and his wife have been there and give it a thumbs up. But then again, they haven't been a whole lot of places.

I think FL Mary has been. If I recall correctly, she wasn't overwhelmed by the casino.

Here's what I posted a while back about the Wind Creek Casino in Atmore:
I went to the Wind Creek casino yesterday, and I must say, I did better there than I have done in any casino in a long, long time. I spent almost 8 hours non-stop playing the slots, and ended up coming home down $45. Now that is not bad. I racked up a lot of points, not that it really means anything. I guess I'll start getting some offers and freeplay from them. There are a lot of recognizable themed machines mixed in with the other, never seen before types. I played a Sun and Moon and hit the 50 free spin feature twice. I played a Tiki Torch and hit about $100. It takes a while to get used to the bingo game display, but after awhile, I just started watching my bingo card, and if I won on it, I'd look at the display to see what I had hit. At first it was annoying, but then I kind of liked it. I played several hours on a machine called Jade of the Dragon, with a neat feature sort of like Enchanted Forest. If the dragon shows up, he is wild all up and down the column. The place became very crowded towards noon and there after, with long lines for the buffet and player's club. But I was able to find plenty of machines to play. I had a lot of fun and will definitely go back. |

I had heard mixed reviews on this place & I appreciate all of your opinions here. I guess if we're doing very well on time while traveling, we might
consider stopping in to see for ourselves. Thanks again.

Thanks for that link. The more I think about it, either going to or from Biloxi, it really doesn't sound like it would be worth the time to go out of the
way, unless my traveling companions have an interest in checking it out.

I wouldn't make a trip from Biloxi to go to Wind Creek. If you are passing by, then it would be fine for a little stop. Don't expect much video poker
at this place, but if you like slots, then you may like this casino. People do seem to win there. I don't care for that bingo card that pops up when
your reels spin.

I stopped by there close to a year ago. It was a lot farther down I 65 than I expected, but like the others, I noticed my money lasted quite longer there
compared to biloxi. They have a good sized gambling floor. The buffet is very small with southern food mainly, but reasonably priced. They sent me a free room
and buffet last month, it's just too long of a drive for me.

Chris and I have stopped by there many times on the way to Biloxi.
It is a new casino and hotel. The selection of the games are still the same ones they had at the old casino. All Bingo type games. It is pretty and reminds me alot of the Red Rock resort in Las Vegas. On the way to Biloxi, we often get off at the exit anyway and go through Atmore, Bay Minette and Stapleton on our way to Mobile. It is right off I-65, exit 57. |

I've been there a few times since they remodeled. I seemed to do much better there than Biloxi. No big wins, but I could at least win a little here and
there to play on. At first the bingo thing is distracting, but after a while, you get used to it.

I didn't care for the bingo thing the only time I've been there, but maybe I need to try it again. Maybe I will get used to it. I could sure do with
some winning.

I think we may try it again on our next trip to Biloxi. It is the exit we usually take to go to Mobile and then Biloxi.
