Hi Everyone,
A few of us have been tossing around the idea of trying to have a group meeting later this year in Biloxi since there are so many of us who love it so much and
also enjoy meeting others who share our passion. . I have been in contact with my host who has asked me for a number of people attending, possible dates,
times and other info before he can tell me if the Beau would provide a meeting room and other amenities for us.
I am NOT an organizer. But in order to try to get the ball rolling, I would like to get some input from all of you as to (1) if you have any interest in
pursuing this meeting; (2) dates and alternative dates when the most people could attend; (3) length of time you would be interested in meeting (2 hours - more
or less?), and any other input you can offer.
I have no idea whether the Beau would provide us with any food or beverages but unless I can give my host a tentative number of people attending and dates,
I'm sure he won't be able to tell me anything definite.
So if we could have some feedback as to whether we all REALLY want to get together for a group meet, it would be most appreciated. I have truly enjoyed
meeting those of you at the small get-togethers we have managed to work out. But I think to get an even larger group together would be a lot of fun.
Please let us know what you think - positive and negative - and we'll go from there. At least this is a starting point. Any organizers out there -
we'd LOVE to hear from you if you are willing to take this on!

1. I like the idea and would attend. Several years ago, we had annual meets for the Biloxi board. Jean Scott even attended a couple of them. I wonder if
Jen (owner of this board) would be interested in attending. She lives in Tunica now. She may be able to get Jean and Brad Scott to visit Biloxi again. If
that happens, I'm sure the casinos would provide a room.

Okay here goes my 2 cents lol.
I have planned about 17 meets and they have ranged from 10 on up to 90. Most averaging 30 - 50. Here is what I have found works. Sundays 1-3pm. No speakers unless the host or casino wants to say a few words. (which is the polite thing to do  )
It is a time for everyone to visit. We waited so long to meet new friends or visit with old friends time spent visitng is valuable. Linda, Funny how you got this going. We had talked about doing a meet in Biloxi on Sept. 12th I had a couple of casinos in mind. Usually when we do a meet, the casino provides open bar, a setup similiar to a VIP lounge mini buffet, some giveaways such as slot play or casino gibbies for door prizes. We tip generously. We do follow up emails and thank yous to the Host's boss. We also give the hosting casino a feature on the site.
This year starts the beginning of BiloxiOne's 9th year! We need a birthday party. Who would have thought we would be around this long. Also we are contracting to redo the website to a more up to date magazine format. The forum will remain the same just maybe some better icons and photos. So time is right to celebrate. If we could get a date and then an approximate number of people it would be great. Also we will be starting a Biloxi Newsletter soon. (about 45 days). You can count Terri and I in we have been to several meets and they were a blast looking forward to this one. Sept will work for us as soon as you have set the
date we can work on getting someone to work for us. If we can help just let us know what is needed.

 Sounds fine to me. I have attended 2 of the Tunica meets, and thoroughly enjoyed both. If we can get a date anywhere from mid Sept
to mid or late Oct., my gambling buddy and I will be there. GATOPCAT

We can be there if its on a Sunday-Monday. September sounds good. I went to the one meet in Biloxi in 2005 hosted by Jen at the Palace. It was so much fun! I
don't post regularly on this board because we don't frequent Biloxi as often as we once did. I post on the sister board Casinosone mostly about our
local Indian casino. Count us in!

That's wonderful that you were thinking of doing this. I was just trying to get the ball rolling in my own little small way. So since you've got connections and you've done this before, I will certainly defer to your expertise. Hope everything works out as I know we'll all have a great time. The date of Sept. 12th sounds great to me, but anytime during September would be good. I know the first full week in October is Cruisin' the Coast and while we will be there then, it probably wouldn't be a good time to ask the casinos in Biloxi for any favors. I'm going to send you a note with my host's name along with the emails he and I had sent back and forth. He is super nice and has been very good to me. Charles said you were leaning towards IP, which is fine. I just have established myself at the Beau and the Grand. But I will attend a Meet wherever it is and really look forward to it. I have a friend that doesn't post on the Board but she will probably come with me in September as my spouse doesn't do the gambling thing (unless there is a car show nearby). Thanks, Linda |

Chris and I would love to be part of a Meet and Great.
We usually stay at the Hard Rock, but would be glad to meet everyone whereve it may take place. We are planning trips to Biloxi in Sept and late Oct. |

Everyone is invited to the meet and greet, it doesn't matter where you are staying. The casino that host it usually ask that you be a players club
member and you sign in this way. At some of the meets Claire and I have attended they gave door prizes like small amounts of free play. When you sign in
they give you tickets.

Linda, Jen, and Charles,
This sounds like a great idea. DH and I have had the opportunity to meet a few people from this board but have not been able to attend a 'formal meet'. Jen, our home casino is IP and we have a great host there. Her name is Jean Wilson and if she can help I'm sure she will. September is really around the corner so if we can finalize a date we can all start getting organized to be there. We're glad to help with this.....just let us know. June |

A Biloxi meet sounds like fun. We are already booked on a cruise in Sept but if the selected date for the meet does not clash with that we will be there.
A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory!

Ray, I have wanted to shake you hand for a long time. They don't play football on Sunday. If you had to you could come down early on Sunday
morning for the afternoon meet. If you didn't want to go back the same day you could tell the school you were doing some "research" and would be
in late on Monday morning. Lets see you could tell them you were researching "wildlife" on the Mississippi Coast.
If we get enough people maybe we can all throw in $20.00 and tackle one of the $5.00 machines for a slot pull. Listen at me, now watch something come up that I wont be able to come down. |
