I can't believe all this media frenzy over Michael Jackson. I mean, REALLY! I don't have a problem with them saying that he died, but, I can't find a station that is not covering this. Am I the ONLY one that thinks it's ridiculous? I am so out of touch with the rest of this country. First, Obama gets elected president. I don't know one person (well, okay, maybe ONE - and I'm not mentioning any names) that voted for him. Yet here he is president. Now Michael Jackson dies and every station in the whole wide world is covering it nonstop. Is this news the most important thing we've got going right now? Okay, I'm through venting. I just had to get it off my chest. I wish I were in Biloxi, or Cherokee, or Tunica, or Las Vegas, or Reno - well, you get my drift - anywhere there is a slot machine where I could sit and punch buttons and not even look at a TV nor wonder what the rest of the world is doing! First let me say Idid not vote for Obama either but Idid talk to a guy at the VA yesterday that did, but he did say he was sorry. To late bud! Next , on to the Tampa HR for some mindless VP button pushing. There I sat not a care in the world except my next 4oak, when all the talk around me was of Michael`s death, So you see there is no safe zone. Oh and by the way it was a wining trip!

I told my wife this morning that it would have seemed sufficient to have a headline that said "Pedophile dies, kids safe" and never hear anything else from this story. It was on Fox news this morning but Barney and Baby Einstein are keeping me from having to hear more about MJ as I write this. VPDAWG

And...yes, I do believe he was a child molester, one does not pay $ 20 million in 'out of court selttlement' if one is innocent. I too quite often 'run' to the casinos to numb my sense, to 'get away from it all'. As to our fearless leader: I honestly believe that between him and Sen. Dashle they are conspiring to come up with a plan to legally get rid of the growing American older population as quick as possible. Wonder how long it will be before grandpa and grandma are EXPECTED to 'check out'. I SINCERELY BELIEVE THAT THE HEALTH CARE 'REFORM BILL' IS A FIGHT NOT FOR OUR WELL BEING, BUT FOR OUR LIVES !!! and....we ALL SHOULD CONTACT OUR ELECTED REPS TO LET THEM KNOW HOW OUTRAGED WE ARE ! Dear Obama sure let the cat out of the bag: seems to me that he did just a little turnaround. From giving the example of how his cancer stricken mother had to fight to get health insurance coverage to his most recent statement that maybe 'mom' ( apparently YOU & I ) if coming down with some dreadful desease, instead of going for surgery maybe reach instead for the painkillers. Hmmm... at what age does this 'TREATMENT OPTION' kick in ? I think it's most interesting that obviously our fearless leaders condone this kind of teaching to the new generation. All reminds me of communism....get rid of the 'unproductive' ones ! Last time government messed with my health care, I was mandated to enroll into Taxpayer paid for Medicare, and my 'Primary' insurance became my 'Secondary' . In addition though my newly established 'Secondary' still recieved the same premiums as previously, now they were under Big Brothers mandate to ONLY pay out minimal amount, and if Big Brother as a "Primary' insurer denies a treatment, the 'Secondary' does not even have to pay the pennies on the $ that they otherwise do. Interestingly, IF I lived overseas, where Medicare no longer covers, my 'Secondary' would be my 'Primary'.... Of course our elected officials all voted this in on our behalf, after obviously (I AM CERTAIN (!) recieving massive corruptive payoffs. Copayments on my privately insured drug presciption plan (from my former employer- to which I continue to pay into as overall it's still better than Medicare) have increased from $ 5 per prescription to up to $ 70 !(90days) per prescription for non generic ones ( goes on a tier level). ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Since we are on the topic of VENTING/FUMING.....: Following the wonder credit card 'REFORM' card companies are sending us notices that the minimum payments are going to increase 150% starting August. Reason stated: 'current APRs and revolving balances associated with accounts.'.... Ha, 'current APRs are ranging between 1.99% to 3.99% LOCKED IN UNTIL PAID....Ok, we do have some larger balances, but have been FAR from being maxed out, with several cards EMPTY (!). Kinda interesting that initially they suck you in, entice one, no 'bombard' one with offers, but after taken them up on things, it turns out to be a big No,No. Also interesting, from my point of view, that they have the BALLS to send out notices like this ! NEVER HAVE BEEN LATE on ANY payments, instead always paid the minute a bill came in ! To top everything, these intstitutions are the SAME ONES whos parent companies have taken TAXPAYER monies to get 'bailed out' and now they have the nerve to pick on the little guy, pushing to destroy their own promotion. We called the card company and where told by all of the different employees that we spoke to that they too are recieving the same kind of notices. Were also told that the increased demand in payment amounts was due to the 'new legislation' .......Really ? If that's true, Thank's a lot Obama. Sounds to me that it will increase the Bankruptcy rate, and decrease economic improvements by a 'tad'.... Oh, when explaining to the card companies that their coming demands are not feasible, they transfer one to a 'Solution Team' designed for 'Hardship Cases' .... (?) Of course nobody answers that misterious line, and there is no direct phone number available.... I have news for all the SOBs: Push, push, push... and they may just 'eat it' from this end too. So, Linda: how was this for venting ? Wished I could say I would feel better now about all I wrote about, but unfortunally it all remains a 'crock'.... You have heard I am sure that the Democratic Party is now proposing to tax our insurance benefits. I understand that is a turn around on what was said during campaigning for president. This is what the newspaper said, I didn't hear anyone say they were not going to tax benefits I am just repeating what the AJC said. No I could not find the article to back what I am saying up if my life depended on it. I need to start writing stuff like that down or cutting the articles out when I see them. I have heard two different people making statements that something like 5% of the people are using up over half the money for health care. One was President Obama in his speech this past Monday I think it was. I guess when you are 35 or 40 years old it's OK to put someone out to pasture, they just do not realize how quickly 65 or 70 or even 75 years old gets here. We won't be here to see it but we can take some satisfaction in knowing that a bunch of people that are supporting this kind of legislation will be told some day. "Sorry comrade, for the good of the people you are too old for this type of treatment"

It will drive the private firms out of business and is bad for the employees unless of course you are in a union and your benefits won't be taxed! Can you say payback for support. Isn't that the definition of corruption?

Her doctor had told her not to take the cruise as she was a waiting list for heart surgery, and expected the waiting to last at least 6 MONTH !!!. She decided to keep on living her life anyhow, despite of the DRs warnings. After that one time dinner together I did not see her again.... Our departure at the end of the cruise was very slow as they were waiting for a mortuary to come and pick up a body.... The casket eventually was the first one to leave the ship. I could not help wondering if it was the nice lady from England.......? Charles T: I heard about the taxation of health care benefits. All I can tell you that I recently contacted my congressional reps office to VENT. Actually she is one of the few good ones, however it does not hurt to voice ones beliefs, so that she knows she is on the right track. Anyhow, I concluded my 'speech' by stating that I am quite upset over what's going on, and that actually I am having quite radical thoughts, I told her: 'probably like a lot of other Americans at this point...' Guess what, she agreed..... By the way, please forgive me for all of the grammar mistakes in the previous reply and this one, it's what happens when I furiously hit the keys.........

She probably has $2,000 shoes, too. She was touted for her wardrobe not being couture, and mainstream, moderate cost fashion. Now the libs justify it by saying, well it was ok for Jackie-O and Nancy Reagan, so what's the big deal? Jackie-O had boo-koo personal money, as did Nancy Reagan. Plus it is just a whole different time now, and I think it is just wrong, and a bad message to the regular people.
