27th Oct - Mom arrives
Went to the airport by taxi and waited in baggage claim. She was on a wheelchair so we didn't know how she was coming, so we waited there. She doesn't use a wheelchair, but at airports she uses one to make sure she doesn't get lost. She got there 10 minutes after the Presidential Limo driver (recommend highly!). We limoed to the Venetian where her room was waiting. She had stayed at nearly all the old long gone casinos and some of the newer ones like Luxor, but never at a 4-5 star property. She had a room on the same floor as my wife. After check-in we ate lunch in her room. After which we went gambling. The Venetian does not give first time card members any freeplay. But because of her birthday, they gave her $10. We gambled and then went to the Wynn. She got a card at the Wynn as well. On top of the $10 given new members, she got $10 more for her birthday. What did she do with it?
Yep you guessed. We then went to the Buffet for dinner. After dinner, we went back to the Venetian. We gambled until 1am and then I took my mom to her room. To our dismay, the luncheon dishes were still in the room. After calling down to the desk several times, I finally placed all the dishes and napkins and table cloth in the hallway at 3am! After this I went down and gambled until 430am. My wife gambled until 5am. Yes, we had some hits - $700 on a penny machine was one of them.
28th Oct Happy Birthday Mom!
One of presents was a gift card to the Venetian shops. It took most of the day for my mom to spend $100.00! We visited the Palazzo casino and St Mark's Square during the quest. Clever mom, she managed to see everything doing the shopping spree... the Canal Shops, the various acts, etc. Had dinner at the Grand Lux and then went to see the Phantom of the Opera. Technically excellent. We all enjoyed it! Off to gambling again.
29th Oct
Breakfast at the Lux. Now checkout and back to the airport matched with gambling time. The limo took us back and we said goodbye to Mom. The limo took us back to the Venetian.
